Intel DN2800MT Half-Height (Intel Atom 2x1.86Ghz CPU, 10-19VDC) [FANLESS] | |

The Intel DN2800MT is an excellent, fanless, low-power consumption board. Instead of using conventional 2.5 inch SSDs it is possible to use a tiny mSATA SSD, which is a bonus for us as we are developing small, battery-powered systems. In addition, Intel have done away with the bulky Molex connectors making this board an ideal candidate for use in a small, embedded environment. The board requires a 12VDC to !8VDC supply to power it with no need for an additional ATX on-board power supply. This saves both time and money. The only downside is the lack of decent GNU/Linux support for the graphics chip. At present there is only basic experimental support in the Linux kernel; Intel have provided a proprietary driver for the "end-of-life" Meego OS and it is possible to import this into your own kernel. |
