CTFGPS-3 USB GPS Receiver (Venus 6 chipset) *new*
| 24.09.2008 This receiver is more stable than the GPS receivers based on the Sirf chipset. I am currently using a Sirf based receiver on my boat which is very unstable and in my view not very suitable to give positions for slow moving objects. The initial test with this receiver has shown that it gets to a fix quicker and that the position is more stable. One disatvantage is that is sometimes recognized as a mouse. This however can be prevented by using port blocking software.

| 24.09.2008 Don't understand why the Intel D945GCLF with integrated ATOM CPU needs such a big cooling device especially because the ATOM CPU is much more energy efficient. I plan to build a computer with an extension boerd which would not fit if the original cooling wasn't replaced. I also want to recommend the manual created by CARTFT on how to replace the original heatsink with this replacement.

| 24.09.2008 This is my second purchase of the Intel D945GCLF. The first one is used on the navigation computer in my boat. The reasons for buying this board are: low power consumption and 4 USB ports. The number of ports allows me to run the computer without an USB hub. Now I am able to connect a GPS mouse, an AIS receiver and the connection to the auto pilot. The final port is used for an wireless internet connection.

| 08.04.2009 This was the missing link in my navigation system for my sailing boat. This system works with a 15?display on the chart table but I was looking for a small display in the cockpit to see if the boat was following the programmed track or get a position. This display also would help when entering locks and harbors. It was frustrating to find that small (below 12?) always come with a touch screen system and at a price that is twice as high as larger displays. The mimo closed this gap and was working fine from the moment I installed it.
	M350 Mini-ITX enclosure
| 04.05.2009 Till now I have been using the VoomPC enclosure. I could use the enclosure on my boat only after some modifications. The M350 together with the Wall mounting brackets for M350 enclosure is optimal for a navigation system on boats. Big plus more USB ports, a normal on/off switch and a smaller footprint. The only problem is to get the back plate in together with the ITX board.
